Lollipop Shrub Trim That Opens Up the Whole Front Yard

The shrub had grown into a full, dense ball shape - solid green all the way to the ground with zero structure underneath. We went with a lollipop style trim - cleaning out all the lower growth to expose the natural branch structure, then shaping the canopy up top into a tight, clean rounded form. It's a technique that works really well on shrubs like this because it gives them a defined shape while letting the plant actually breathe. The exposed trunk and branching add a ton of character that was completely hidden before.

The difference it makes to the front entrance is hard to overstate. The walkway feels more open, the house is more visible, and the whole bed looks intentional instead of neglected.
